For the Seasoned French Fries
Method
Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Potatoes
Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into even strips, about 1/4 inch thick.
- 2
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 4
Dry the Potatoes
Drain the soaked potatoes and pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel.
- 5
Fry the Potatoes
Carefully add a handful of potatoes to the hot oil, frying them in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for about 5-6 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
- 6
Drain and Season
Remove the fries from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. While they are still hot, sprinkle with salt, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and dried oregano.
- 7
Serve
Serve the seasoned French fries hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
