Collard Green Cigarillos

Macaroni

Savory Jerk Sauce

Method

Collard Green Cigarillos

  1. 1

    Sauté Collard Greens

In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute. Add chopped collard greens, salt, and pepper. Cook until tender, about 5-7 minutes.

  2. 2

    Prepare Cigarillos

Place a spoonful of the sautéed collard greens onto the center of an egg roll wrapper. Roll tightly, folding in the sides, and seal with a little water. Repeat with remaining wrappers.

Macaroni

  1. 3

    Cook Macaroni

Cook elbow macaroni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

  2. 4

    Make Cheese Sauce

In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in milk, cheese, salt, and pepper until creamy. Combine the cooked macaroni with the cheese sauce.

Jerk Chicken

  1. 5

    Marinate Chicken

Rub jerk seasoning over the chicken thighs and let marinate for at least 30 minutes.

  2. 6

    Cook Chicken

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook chicken for about 5-7 minutes on each side until cooked through. Slice into strips.

Savory Jerk Sauce

  1. 7

    Mix Sauce

In a bowl, whisk together jerk seasoning, soy sauce, honey, and lime juice until well combined.

Assembly

  1. 8

    Assemble Egg Rolls

Place a few macaroni, strips of jerk chicken, and collard green cigarillos into each egg roll. Roll tightly and seal the edges.

  2. 9

    Fry Egg Rolls

Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium heat. Fry egg rolls until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.

  3. 10

    Serve

Serve warm with the savory jerk sauce on the side.
