Ingredients for Molten Chocolate Cake

Method

Preparation Instructions

1

Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). Prepare a muffin pan by greasing it with butter and dusting it with flour.

2

Melt Chocolate and Butter

In a heatproof bowl, combine the dark chocolate and unsalted butter. Melt them together using a microwave or a double boiler until smooth. Stir well and let cool slightly.

3

Mix Sugar and Eggs

In a separate bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, large eggs, and egg yolks until the mixture is pale and fluffy.

4

Combine Mixtures

Slowly pour the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture, stirring continuously. Add the vanilla extract and mix until well combined.

5

Add Flour

Gently fold in the all-purpose flour until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

6

Fill Muffin Pan

Pour the batter into the prepared muffin pan, filling each cup about 2/3 full.

7

Bake the Cakes

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-14 minutes, or until the edges are firm but the center remains soft.

8

Serve

Let the cakes cool for 1 minute, then carefully invert them onto plates. Serve immediately with a scoop of French vanilla ice cream, a dollop of whipped cream, and fresh berries.
