Method

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pork

Trim excess fat from the pork shoulder and cut it into large chunks.

  2. 2

    Mix the Rub

In a bowl, combine brown sugar, paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Rub this mixture all over the pork pieces.

  3. 3

    Sauté Aromatics

In a large skillet, sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic until translucent.

  4. 4

    Cook the Pork

Place the sautéed onion and garlic at the bottom of a slow cooker. Add the seasoned pork on top. Pour in the apple cider vinegar and water. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the pork is tender.

  5. 5

    Shred the Pork

Once cooked, remove the pork from the slow cooker and shred it with two forks. Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker and mix with barbecue sauce.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve the pulled pork on buns or as desired.
