Base Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Brew Coffee

Brew a strong cup of coffee and allow it to cool to room temperature. If using coffee liqueur, mix it with the cooled coffee.

  2. 2

    Prepare Egg Mixture

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and sugar until the mixture is pale and fluffy, about 5 minutes.

  3. 3

    Add Mascarpone

Gently fold in the mascarpone cheese into the egg and sugar mixture until well combined and smooth.

  4. 4

    Whip Cream

In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Carefully fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until no streaks remain.

Assembly

  1. 5

    Soak Ladyfingers

Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the cooled coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.

  2. 6

    Layer Ingredients

In a rectangular dish, create a layer of soaked ladyfingers at the bottom. Spoon half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers and spread it evenly.

  3. 7

    Repeat Layers

Add another layer of soaked ladyfingers on top of the mascarpone mixture, followed by the remaining mascarpone mixture.

  4. 8

    Chill

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld.

Finishing Touch

  1. 9

    Serve

Before serving, dust the top of the tiramisu with cocoa powder and cut into squares. Enjoy your delicious homemade tiramisu!
