Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate the Yeast

In a small bowl, mix the warm water and sugar. Add the yeast and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

  2. 2

    Make the Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Create a well in the center, then add the activated yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.

  3. 3

    Knead the Dough

Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Meat Preparation

  1. 4

    Cook the Meats

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the Italian sausage, breaking it apart until fully browned. Remove and drain excess fat. In the same skillet, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain and set aside.

  2. 5

    Prepare Bacon

In the same skillet, cook the chopped bacon until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Assembly

  1. 6

    Prepare the Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) and place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside to heat up.

  2. 7

    Shape the Pizza

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out to your desired thickness. Transfer to a parchment-lined pizza peel or baking sheet.

  3. 8

    Add Sauce and Toppings

Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough. Layer with heritage pepperoni, cooked Italian sausage, diced ham, cooked ground beef, and crispy bacon.

  4. 9

    Add Cheese

Sprinkle the shredded Wisconsin smoked provolone cheese generously over the top.

  5. 10

    Bake the Pizza

Carefully slide the pizza onto the preheated pizza stone or baking sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.

Serving

  1. 11

    Slice and Serve

Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a couple of minutes. Slice into pieces and serve hot.
