Meatballs

Method

Prepare Meatballs

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, eggs, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

  2. 2

    Form Meatballs

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Take a portion of the meat mixture and roll it into golf ball-sized meatballs. Place the meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  3. 3

    Bake Meatballs

Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes or until cooked through and browned.

Make Marinara Sauce

  1. 4

    Sauté Onion and Garlic

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Then add the minced garlic and sauté for another minute.

  2. 5

    Add Tomatoes and Seasonings

Pour in the canned crushed tomatoes, followed by Italian seasoning, sugar, salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.

  3. 6

    Simmer Sauce

Let the sauce simmer on low heat for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Assemble and Serve

  1. 7

    Combine Meatballs and Sauce

Once the meatballs are done baking, add them to the marinara sauce and stir gently to coat.

  2. 8

    Top with Cheese

Transfer the meatballs and sauce to an oven-safe dish. Sprinkle the shredded smoked Provolone cheese and grated Romano cheese on top.

  3. 9

    Broil

Place the dish under the broiler for about 3-5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  4. 10

    Serve

Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your Meatball Shareable!
