Steak Marinade

Toppings

Method

Marinating the Steak

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a bowl, combine habanero sauce, lime juice, chopped cilantro, olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Steak

Place the steak in a resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the steak, ensuring it is well-coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.

Cooking the Steak

  1. 3

    Grill the Steak

Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade and let any excess marinade drip off. Grill the steak for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness is reached.

  2. 4

    Rest the Steak

Once cooked, remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for about 5 minutes before slicing.

Assembling the Bowl

  1. 5

    Prepare the Base

In a serving bowl, add a generous portion of cooked rice and black beans as the base.

  2. 6

    Add the Steak

Slice the rested steak against the grain into strips and place it on top of the rice and beans.

  3. 7

    Top with Toppings

Spoon guacamole and queso over the steak, and add your choice of salsa. Serve with lime wedges on the side.
