Meatball Preparation

Mix Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, eggs, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning. Mix until all ingredients are well combined.

Form Meatballs
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Once mixed, form the meat mixture into meatballs, about 1.5 inches in diameter. Place the meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake Meatballs
Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until they are cooked through and browned.

Add Tomatoes and Seasoning
Stir in the crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, sugar, salt, and black pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Finish Sauce
Add the chopped fresh basil to the sauce just before serving. Adjust seasoning to taste.

Combine Meatballs and Sauce
Once the meatballs are baked and the sauce is ready, combine them in a large pot on low heat. Let them simmer together for about 10 minutes to meld the flavors.

Add Cheese
Sprinkle shredded smoked Provolone and grated Romano cheese over the top of the meatballs and sauce. Cover the pot and let it sit for a few minutes until the cheese is melted.
