Brownie Base
Method
Preparation
- 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- 2
Melt the Butter
In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat. Remove from heat once melted and let cool slightly.
- 3
Mix Sugars and Eggs
In a large mixing bowl, combine the granulated sugar and brown sugar with the melted butter. Stir until combined. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- 4
Combine Dry Ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
- 5
Combine Wet and Dry Mixtures
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring just until combined. Do not overmix.
- 6
Add Chocolate Chips
Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
- 7
Pour and Smooth
Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
- 8
Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- 9
Cool and Cut
Remove the brownies from the oven and let them cool in the pan for at least 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Cut into squares and serve.
