Preparation and Cooking

Prepare the Meatballs
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, bread crumbs, egg, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

Shape the Meatballs
Form the mixture into meatballs about 2 inches in diameter and set aside.

Cook the Meatballs
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add meatballs and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.

Make the Marinara Sauce
In the same skillet, add crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, dried basil, and sugar. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.

Combine Meatballs and Sauce
Return the meatballs to the skillet, cover, and let simmer for about 20 minutes until cooked through.

Cook the Pappardelle
While the meatballs are simmering, cook pappardelle noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

Serve
Serve the meatballs and marinara over the cooked pappardelle noodles and sprinkle with asiago cheese.
