House Chocolate Sauce

Method

Lava Cake

  1. 1

    Melt Chocolate and Butter

In a microwave-safe bowl, combine dark chocolate and unsalted butter. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth and melted. Let it cool slightly.

  2. 2

    Mix Eggs and Sugar

In a separate bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar and large eggs until pale and frothy.

  3. 3

    Combine Mixtures

Slowly pour the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture while whisking continuously. Add vanilla extract and a pinch of salt, and mix until combined.

  4. 4

    Add Flour

Sift the all-purpose flour over the mixture and fold gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

  5. 5

    Prepare Ramekins

Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). Grease four ramekins with butter and dust with cocoa powder to prevent sticking.

  6. 6

    Fill Ramekins

Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins, filling each about 3/4 full.

  7. 7

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-14 minutes, or until the edges are firm but the center is still soft.

  8. 8

    Cool and Serve

Remove from the oven and let them cool for a minute. Invert onto plates to serve.

Chocolate Drumstick

  1. 9

    Prepare Chocolate Coating

In a small saucepan, combine chocolate chips and coconut oil. Melt over low heat, stirring until smooth.

  2. 10

    Assemble Drumsticks

Scoop ice cream into each wafer cone, packing it down gently. Dip the top of each cone into the melted chocolate, allowing excess to drip off.

  3. 11

    Freeze

Place the coated cones upright in the freezer for about 30 minutes to set the chocolate.

House Chocolate Sauce

  1. 12

    Heat Cream

In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it begins to simmer.

  2. 13

    Make Sauce

Remove from heat and add dark chocolate and powdered sugar, stirring until smooth and glossy. Stir in vanilla extract.

  3. 14

    Serve

Drizzle the chocolate sauce over the lava cakes and chocolate drumsticks when serving.
