Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Beef Patties

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined and form into two equal patties.

  2. 2

    Make the Special Sauce

In a separate bowl, mix together mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, pickle relish, and garlic powder until smooth and well incorporated. Set aside.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Cook the Beef Patties

Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Cook the beef patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of American cheese on each patty to melt.

Assembly

  1. 4

    Assemble the Burger

On the bottom bun, spread a generous amount of special sauce. Layer with lettuce, followed by one beef patty. Add a slice of onion and pickles. Repeat with the second beef patty and another layer of sauce before adding the middle bun. Repeat the process with the remaining toppings and finish with the top bun.
