Ingredients for Sesame Fried Tofu Fries
Method
Directions for Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Tofu
Press the firm tofu to remove excess moisture. Cut the tofu into fry-shaped sticks.
- 2
Marinate the Tofu
In a bowl, mix soy sauce, salt, and pepper. Toss the tofu fries in the marinade and let them sit for about 15 minutes.
- 3
Coat the Tofu
In a separate bowl, combine panko breadcrumbs, cornstarch, sesame seeds, and a pinch of salt. Dredge each tofu fry in the breadcrumb mixture until fully coated.
- 4
Prepare the Pickled Red Onions
Thinly slice the red onion and soak in a mixture of rice vinegar and a pinch of salt for at least 10 minutes.
- 5
Fry the Tofu
In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Fry the coated tofu fries in batches until golden and crispy, about 3-5 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.
- 6
Serve
Serve the crispy tofu fries hot, drizzled with gochu sauce, topped with pickled red onions and chopped scallions.
