Gnocchi Ingredients

Method

Gnocchi Preparation

  1. 1

    Boil the Potatoes

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the potatoes and cook until tender, about 20-25 minutes. Drain and let cool slightly.

  2. 2

    Mash the Potatoes

Once the potatoes are cool enough to handle, peel them and mash them in a large bowl until smooth.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

Add the flour, egg, and salt to the mashed potatoes. Mix until a dough forms. If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour.

  4. 4

    Shape the Gnocchi

On a floured surface, divide the dough into small pieces. Roll each piece into a long rope about ¾ inch thick and cut into 1-inch pieces. Use a fork to create ridges on each piece.

  5. 5

    Cook the Gnocchi

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the gnocchi in batches, cooking until they float to the surface, about 2-3 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon and set aside.
