Prepare the Filling
In a bowl, mix the finely chopped pistachios and ground cinnamon.
- 3
Layer the Phyllo Dough
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Melt the unsalted butter. Brush a 9x13 inch baking dish with melted butter. Layer 10 sheets of phyllo dough in the dish, brushing each sheet with melted butter before adding the next.
- 4
Add the Pistachio Filling
Sprinkle a layer of the pistachio mixture over the phyllo layers. Continue layering 5 more sheets of phyllo, brushing each with butter, then add another layer of pistachios. Repeat until all pistachios are used, finishing with 10 layers of phyllo on top.
- 5
Cut and Bake
Using a sharp knife, cut the baklava into diamond or square shapes. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes or until golden brown.
- 6
Add the Syrup
Remove the baklava from the oven and immediately pour the cooled syrup over it. Let it cool completely before serving.
