Beef Souvlaki and Accompaniments

Method

Preparation and Cooking

  1. 1

    Marinate the Beef

In a bowl, combine olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Cut the beef into 1-inch cubes and add to the marinade. Stir to coat the beef evenly. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Greek Rice

Cook Greek rice according to package instructions. Fluff with a fork and set aside.

  3. 3

    Make the Greek Salad

In a large bowl, combine diced cucumber, sliced red onion, and crumbled feta cheese. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Toss gently to combine.

  4. 4

    Skewer and Grill the Beef

Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Thread the marinated beef onto skewers. Grill the skewers for about 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally, until the beef is cooked to your desired doneness.

  5. 5

    Grill the Tomatoes

Place the halved tomatoes on the grill during the last few minutes of cooking the beef. Grill until they are slightly charred.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve the grilled beef souvlaki with Greek rice, Greek salad, grilled tomatoes, pita bread, and tzatziki sauce on the side.
