In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the pappardelle pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant.

Add the shrimp and mussels to the skillet, cooking until the shrimp turn pink and the mussels open, about 5-7 minutes.

Stir in the crushed tomatoes, Calabrian peppers, crushed red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Let the sauce simmer for about 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.

Add the cooked pappardelle to the skillet and toss to coat the pasta in the sauce. Stir in the chopped basil.
