Doughnut Hole Ingredients

Method

Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Doughnut Hole Batter

In a large bowl, mix together the flour, 1 cup sugar, baking powder, 1 tsp cinnamon, and salt until well combined.

  2. 2

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.

  3. 3

    Mix Wet and Dry Ingredients

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

  4. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a deep pot or fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  5. 5

    Fry the Doughnut Holes

Using a small cookie scoop or spoon, drop balls of batter into the hot oil. Fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes, turning occasionally.

  6. 6

    Drain and Coat

Remove the doughnut holes with a slotted spoon and place them on paper towels to drain. While still warm, melt the butter and brush it over the doughnut holes. In a separate bowl, mix together 1 cup sugar and 2 tsp cinnamon, then roll the buttered doughnut holes in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until coated.

  7. 7

    Serve

Serve warm and enjoy your delicious doughnut holes!
