Churro Dough

Cinnamon Sugar Coating

Method

Churro Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Boil Ingredients

In a medium saucepan, combine water, unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.

  2. 2

    Add Flour

Once the mixture is boiling, remove it from heat and stir in the all-purpose flour until fully combined and a dough forms.

  3. 3

    Cool and Add Eggs

Let the dough cool for about 5 minutes. Then, add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract until the dough is smooth and well-blended.

Cinnamon Sugar Coating Preparation

  1. 4

    Mix Sugar and Cinnamon

In a shallow bowl, combine granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Set aside for coating the churros later.

Frying Churros

  1. 5

    Heat Oil

In a deep frying pan or pot, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 6

    Pipe Dough

Transfer the churro dough to a piping bag fitted with a star-shaped tip. Once the oil is hot, carefully pipe 4-6 inch strips of dough into the hot oil, cutting the dough with scissors.

  3. 7

    Fry Churros

Fry the churros for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and crispy.

  4. 8

    Drain and Coat

Remove the churros from the oil and drain them on paper towels. While they are still warm, roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture until well-coated.
