Method

Chips

  1. 1

    Prepare the Tortillas

Cut each corn tortilla into 6 wedges to create chips.

  2. 2

    Heat the Oil

In a large frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until hot.

  3. 3

    Fry the Chips

Carefully add tortilla wedges to the hot oil in batches. Fry for about 2-3 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy.

  4. 4

    Drain and Season

Remove the chips with a slotted spoon and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil. While still hot, sprinkle with salt.

Salsa

  1. 5

    Prepare the Ingredients

Dice the tomatoes, finely chop the red onion, and remove the seeds and finely chop the jalapeño pepper.

  2. 6

    Mix the Salsa

In a mixing bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, chopped red onion, jalapeño, and chopped cilantro.

  3. 7

    Season the Salsa

Add lime juice and salt to the mixture. Stir well to combine all the ingredients.

  4. 8

    Chill and Serve

Let the salsa sit for at least 15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Serve with the crispy tortilla chips.
