Churros

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Churro Dough

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil, then remove from heat and stir in flour until combined. Allow to cool for a few minutes, then mix in eggs one at a time until the dough is smooth.

  2. 2

    Heat the Oil

In a deep frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  3. 3

    Pipe the Churros

Transfer the churro dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Pipe 4-inch long strips into the hot oil, cutting them with scissors. Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.

  4. 4

    Make the Chocolate Sauce

In a small saucepan, melt the Mexican chocolate over low heat. Stir in Baileys Irish Cream until smooth. Remove from heat.

  5. 5

    Serve

Remove churros from the oil and drain on paper towels. Roll in cinnamon sugar (mix granulated sugar and cinnamon). Serve warm with melted Baileys chocolate sauce.
