Preparation
- 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- 2
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- 3
Cut in Butter
Add the cold, cubed butter to the dry ingredients. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- 4
Add Buttermilk
Pour in the buttermilk and stir gently until just combined. Do not overmix.
- 5
Shape the Biscuits
Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and gently knead it 2-3 times. Pat the dough into a 1-inch thick rectangle. Use a biscuit cutter to cut out biscuits.
