Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Batter

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

  2. 2

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, combine the milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Mix well.

  3. 3

    Combine Dry and Wet Ingredients

Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are okay.

  4. 4

    Add Chocolate Chips

Gently fold in the French Broad chocolate chips into the batter.

  5. 5

    Heat the Griddle

Preheat a griddle or skillet over medium heat and lightly grease it with butter or oil.

  6. 6

    Cook the Pancakes

Pour about 1/4 cup of batter onto the griddle for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, then flip and cook until golden brown on the other side.

  7. 7

    Serve

Serve warm with real Michigan maple syrup and a dollop of Vermont Creamery cultured butter.
