Preparation Steps
- 1
Cook the Italian Sausage
In a skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil and cook the Italian sausage links until browned and cooked through, about 8-10 minutes. Remove from the skillet and let cool slightly.
- 2
Prepare the Bread
Slice the French bread lengthwise without cutting all the way through. Lightly toast the inside if desired.
- 3
Assemble the Sandwich
Layer the sliced roast beef onto the bottom half of the French bread. Slice the cooked Italian sausage and place it on top of the roast beef. Add the slices of pepper-jack cheese on top of the sausage.
- 4
Heat the Sandwich
Place the assembled sandwich under a broiler for 2-3 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- 5
Season and Add Toppings
Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Add any optional toppings you like, such as sautéed peppers or onions.
- 6
Serve
Close the sandwich, slice it in half if desired, and serve hot.
