Preparation Instructions

  1. 1

    Caramelize the Onions

Slice the onion thinly. In a medium skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter over medium heat. Add the onions and cook, stirring occasionally, for about 15-20 minutes until they are soft and caramelized. Set aside.

  2. 2

    Brown the Butter

In a small saucepan, melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter over medium heat. Continue cooking until the butter turns golden brown and develops a nutty aroma, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat.

  3. 3

    Assemble the Dish

On a serving plate, layer the prosciutto, followed by dollops of ricotta and Gruyère cheese. Top with the caramelized onions. Drizzle the brown butter over the top.

  4. 4

    Finish with Greens

Add the fresh arugula on top and sprinkle with pickled mustard seeds for an extra burst of flavor. Serve immediately.
