Method

Preparing the Shrimp

  1. 1

    Boil the Shrimp

In a large pot, combine water, lemon halves, and Old Bay seasoning. Bring the mixture to a boil over high heat.

  2. 2

    Cook the Shrimp

Once boiling, add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes until they turn pink and opaque.

  3. 3

    Ice Bath

Immediately transfer the cooked shrimp to a bowl filled with ice water to stop the cooking process. Let sit for a few minutes.

  4. 4

    Drain and Chill

Drain the shrimp from the ice bath and refrigerate until ready to serve.

Making the Cocktail Sauce

  1. 5

    Combine Ingredients

In a medium bowl, mix together ketchup, horseradish sauce, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.

  2. 6

    Adjust Seasoning

Taste the cocktail sauce and adjust the seasoning with extra salt and pepper if needed.

Serving

  1. 7

    Plate the Shrimp

Arrange the chilled shrimp on a serving platter.

  2. 8

    Serve with Sauce

Serve alongside the cocktail sauce for dipping.
