Clean the Calamari
If using whole squid, clean and cut into rings. Rinse under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.

Bread the Calamari
Take each calamari ring, coat it in flour, shake off excess, dip in beaten eggs, then coat with breadcrumbs. Repeat until all calamari are breaded.

Heat the Oil
In a large skillet or frying pan, heat the oil over medium-high heat until hot but not smoking.

Fry the Calamari
Carefully add the breaded calamari to the hot oil in batches. Fry for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown, flipping halfway through.

Drain
Using a slotted spoon, transfer the fried calamari to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
Serving

Serve with Marinara Sauce
Arrange the fried calamari on a serving platter and serve hot with marinara sauce on the side for dipping.
