Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Brownie Base

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in the granulated sugar and brown sugar until well combined. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.

  2. 2

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Fold in the toasted pecans.

  3. 3

Pour the brownie batter into a greased 9x13 inch baking pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Sundae

Once the brownies have cooled, cut them into squares. In serving bowls, layer the brownie squares with scoops of your favorite ice cream.

  5. 5

Drizzle caramel sauce over the ice cream and brownies, and top with additional toasted pecans.

  6. 6

Serve immediately and enjoy your Caramel Brownie Sundae!
