Tea Ingredients
Method
Preparation
- 1
Boil Water
In a kettle, bring 2 cups of fresh water to a boil. Ensure the water is at a rolling boil for best extraction.
- 2
Add Green Tea Leaves
Once the water reaches a boil, remove it from heat and let it cool for about 30 seconds. This will bring the temperature down to about 175°F (80°C), which is ideal for brewing green tea. Add 2 teaspoons of green tea leaves to the hot water.
- 3
Steep the Tea
Allow the tea to steep for 2-3 minutes. Steeping too long can result in a bitter taste, so keep an eye on the time.
- 4
Strain the Tea
After steeping, strain the tea leaves using a fine mesh strainer or a tea infuser.
- 5
Add Optional Ingredients
If desired, stir in 1 tablespoon of honey for sweetness and garnish with a slice of lemon for added flavor.
- 6
Serve
Pour the tea into cups and serve hot. Enjoy your refreshing Japanese green tea!
