Directions
- 1
Prepare the Beef Patty
In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with salt and black pepper. Mix gently to avoid overworking the meat.
- 2
Form the Patties
Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into round patties, about ¾ inch thick. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up while cooking.

- 4
Toast the Buns
While the patties are cooking, slice the burger buns in half and toast them on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
- 5
Assemble the Burger
Spread mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Add lettuce, a slice of tomato, and then place the cooked beef patty on top. Cover with the top half of the bun.
- 6
Serve
Serve the burgers immediately with your favorite sides.
