Preparing the Pasta

Cook the Rigatoni
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the rigatoni pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Making the Sauce

Sauté Garlic
In a large skillet over medium heat, heat the olive oil. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.

Add Chili Paste and Tomatoes
Stir in the Calabrian chili paste and cook for another minute. Then add the canned crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to combine.

Simmer the Sauce
Bring the sauce to a simmer and let it cook for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly.
Combining Pasta and Sauce

Combine and Finish
Add the cooked rigatoni to the skillet with the sauce. Toss to coat the pasta evenly in the sauce. Stir in the chopped fresh basil and cook for an additional 2 minutes.

Serve
Serve the spicy rigatoni hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese and additional basil if desired.
