Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Pickle the Red Onions

Thinly slice the red onion and place it in a small bowl. Cover with vinegar and let it sit for at least 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Cook the Green Beans

Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add the French green beans and blanch for 3-4 minutes. Drain and immediately transfer to an ice bath to stop the cooking. Drain again and set aside.

  3. 3

    Hard Boil the Eggs

Place the eggs in a pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil, then cover and remove from heat. Let sit for 12 minutes. Transfer to an ice bath, cool, peel, and slice in half.

  4. 4

    Sear the Ahi Tuna

Season the Ahi tuna steaks with salt and pepper. Heat a skillet over high heat and add a little oil. Sear the tuna for about 1-2 minutes on each side for medium-rare. Remove from heat and slice thinly.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Salad

On a large plate, arrange the mixed greens. Top with sliced Ahi tuna, blanched green beans, sliced heirloom tomatoes, pickled red onions, olives, and halved hard-boiled eggs.

  6. 6

    Drizzle with Vinaigrette

Drizzle with golden balsamic vinaigrette before serving.
