Burger Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Patties

In a bowl, combine the ground Angus beef with salt and black pepper. Mix gently until just combined. Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties, about 3/4 inch thick.

  2. 2

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the patties on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and place a slice of cheese on top. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until the cheese is melted and the burgers are cooked to your desired doneness.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Vegetables

While the burgers are cooking, wash the lettuce leaves and pat them dry. Slice the tomato into thick rounds and the onion into thin rings.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Burger

Toast the burger buns lightly on the grill or in a toaster. On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked patty with melted cheese, a slice of tomato, and a few rings of onion. Top with the other half of the bun.
