Method
Chicken Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Chicken
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Season the chicken breasts with salt and black pepper on both sides.
- 2
Dredging Station
Set up a dredging station with three shallow bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with a mixture of breadcrumbs and grated Parmesan cheese.
- 3
Coat the Chicken
Dip each chicken breast first into the flour, then into the egg, and finally coat it with the breadcrumb and Parmesan mixture, pressing down to ensure the coating sticks.
Cooking
- 4
Fry the Chicken
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the breaded chicken breasts and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- 5
Transfer to Baking Dish
Once cooked, transfer the chicken to a baking dish.
Topping
- 6
Add Marinara and Cheese
Spoon marinara sauce over each chicken breast, then sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
- 7
Bake
Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- 8
Garnish
Remove from the oven and sprinkle with fresh chopped basil before serving.
