Method

Prepare the Steak

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Season the sirloin steak with salt and black pepper on both sides.

  2. 2

    Cook the Steak

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steak and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness.

  3. 3

    Make Garlic Butter

In a small bowl, mix together the softened butter, minced garlic, and chopped parsley. Set aside.

  4. 4

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the skillet, place on a plate, and top with garlic butter. Let it rest for 5 minutes.

Prepare the Mashed Potatoes

  1. 5

    Boil the Potatoes

Place the cubed potatoes in a pot of salted water. Bring to a boil and cook until tender, about 15-20 minutes.

  2. 6

    Mash the Potatoes

Drain the potatoes and return to the pot. Add milk, parmesan cheese, butter, salt, and black pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy.

Prepare the Broccolini

  1. 7

    Sauté the Broccolini

In the same skillet used for the steak, add olive oil and heat over medium heat. Add broccolini and sauté for 4-5 minutes until tender. Season with salt and pepper.

Serve

  1. 8

    Plate the Dish

Serve the rested steak alongside a generous scoop of parmesan mashed potatoes and sautéed broccolini.
