Burger Assembly
Method
Preparing the Burger Patty
- 1
Mix Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, teriyaki sauce, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.
- 2
Form Patties
Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about 1 inch thick.
- 3
Marinate
Cover the patties with plastic wrap and let them marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to absorb the teriyaki flavor.

Add Cheese (optional)
If using cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking to allow it to melt.
Assembling the Burger
- 7
Toast Buns
While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster.
- 8
Build the Burger
Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun. Place a lettuce leaf on each, followed by a cooked patty, a slice of tomato, and cheese if desired. Drizzle with additional teriyaki sauce before placing the top half of the bun.
