Brewing the Tea

Boil the Water
In a large pot, bring 8 cups of water to a boil over high heat.

Steep the Tea
Once the water reaches a rolling boil, remove it from heat and add 4 black tea bags. Allow the tea to steep for 5-7 minutes, depending on how strong you want the flavor.

Remove Tea Bags
After steeping, carefully remove the tea bags and discard them.
Sweetening and Flavoring

Add Sugar
While the tea is still warm, stir in 1 cup of granulated sugar until completely dissolved.

Add Lemon Juice
Stir in 1 cup of fresh lemon juice to the sweetened tea mixture.

Add Mint
Add fresh mint leaves to taste, stirring gently to release their flavor.
Chilling and Serving

Cool the Tea
Allow the tea to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or until chilled.

Serve the Iced Tea
Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the chilled tea over the ice. Garnish with lemon slices and additional mint leaves if desired.
