Method

Preparation of the Cedar Plank

  1. 1

    Soak the Cedar Plank

Submerge the cedar plank in water for at least 1 hour prior to grilling. This will prevent it from catching fire and will infuse the salmon with a smoky flavor.

Preparing the Salmon

  1. 2

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 375°F or 190°C).

  2. 3

    Season the Salmon

Pat the salmon fillet dry with paper towels. Drizzle with olive oil, and season with salt, black pepper, minced garlic, and fresh dill. Squeeze half of the lemon juice over the salmon and set aside.

  3. 4

    Place Salmon on Cedar Plank

Once the cedar plank has soaked, place it on the grill for about 3-5 minutes until it starts to smoke. Carefully place the seasoned salmon on the cedar plank.

  4. 5

    Grill the Salmon

Close the grill lid and cook for 15-20 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. Add lemon slices on top of salmon for additional flavor if desired.

Preparing the Seasonal Vegetables

  1. 6

    Prepare the Vegetables

While the salmon is grilling, wash and chop the asparagus, bell pepper, and zucchini into bite-sized pieces.

  2. 7

    Season the Vegetables

In a bowl, toss the vegetables with olive oil, salt, and black pepper.

  3. 8

    Grill the Vegetables

Place the seasoned vegetables on a grill basket or directly on the grill. Grill for about 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are tender and slightly charred.

Serving

  1. 9

    Plate the Dish

Once the salmon is cooked, remove it from the cedar plank and serve it alongside the grilled seasonal vegetables. Garnish with additional lemon wedges and fresh dill if desired.
