Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Cut the Potatoes

Wash and peel the Russet potatoes. Cut them into thick strips to create natural cut fries.

  2. 2

    Soak the Fries

Place the cut fries in a bowl of cold water and soak for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 4

    Fry the Potatoes

Carefully add the soaked and drained potato strips to the hot oil in batches. Fry them until they are golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.

  3. 5

    Drain and Season

Remove the fries from the oil and drain on paper towels. Immediately season with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder to taste.

Serving

  1. 6

    Serve Hot

Serve the natural cut fries hot, with your choice of dipping sauces.
