Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Take the ribeye steak out of the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking. This helps the steak cook more evenly.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Rub the steak with olive oil and season generously with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder on both sides.

  3. 3

    Preheat the Pan

Heat a cast-iron skillet or heavy frying pan over high heat until it is very hot.

  4. 4

    Cook the Steak

Place the seasoned ribeye steak in the hot skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side without moving it, until a nice crust forms.

  5. 5

    Flip and Add Butter

Flip the steak using tongs and add butter and fresh rosemary to the pan. Cook for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, basting the steak with the melted butter and rosemary.

  6. 6

    Check Doneness

Use a meat thermometer to check for doneness; 130°F for medium-rare. Adjust cooking time as needed.

  7. 7

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest on a cutting board for about 5-10 minutes before slicing.

  8. 8

    Serve

Slice against the grain and serve immediately.
