French Toast

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the 2 slices of applewood bacon until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Flip halfway through for even cooking. Once done, remove from the skillet and place on paper towels to drain excess grease.

  2. 2

    Prepare the French Toast Batter

In a large bowl, whisk together 1 cup of milk, 2 eggs, 1 tsp of vanilla extract, and 1 tsp of ground cinnamon until fully combined.

  3. 3

    Cook the French Toast

Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and add 1 tbs of butter. Dip each slice of thick-cut bread into the batter, ensuring both sides are coated. Place the bread slices on the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown. Add more butter as needed.

  4. 4

    Cook the Eggs

In the same skillet, after cooking the French toast, crack 2 eggs into the pan and cook to your preference (sunny side up, scrambled, etc.) for about 3-5 minutes.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Platter

On a plate, arrange 2 pieces of French toast, the cooked eggs, and the crispy bacon. Drizzle with maple syrup and sprinkle with powdered sugar as desired.
