Burger Patty

Burger Assembly

Method

Preparing the Patty

  1. 1

    Mixing the Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Use your hands to mix until just combined; do not overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Forming the Patties

Divide the meat mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about 3/4 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent it from puffing up while cooking.

Cooking the Burger

  1. 3

    Preheating the Grill or Pan

Preheat your grill or a large skillet over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes.

  2. 4

    Cooking the Patties

Place the formed patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side until a crust forms, then flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes. Add a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty during the last minute of cooking to let it melt.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 5

    Toasting the Buns

While the patties are cooking, toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 6

    Building the Burger

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked patty with melted cheese, a slice of tomato, pickles, and your desired amount of ketchup and mustard. Top with the other half of the bun.
