Preparation

1. Mix Base Ingredients

In a large pitcher, combine 4 cups of water, 0.5 cups of sugar, 0.5 tsp of salt, and 0.5 tsp of potassium chloride (if using). Stir until all the sugar and salt are completely dissolved.

2. Add Flavoring

To the mixture, add 0.5 cups of lemon juice and 0.5 cups of orange juice for flavor. Stir well to ensure everything is combined thoroughly.

3. Incorporate Electrolytes

Sprinkle in 0.1 tsp of calcium chloride and 0.1 tsp of magnesium sulfate. Stir the mixture again until all the ingredients are fully blended.

4. Color the Drink (Optional)

If desired, add 5 drops of food coloring to achieve your preferred color. Mix well until the color is uniform.

5. Chill and Serve

Refrigerate the Powerade for at least 1 hour before serving. Serve chilled over ice or as preferred.
