Method

Cooking Ahi Tuna

    Step 1

    Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.

    Season both sides of the ahi tuna steaks with salt and black pepper.

    Once the oil is hot, sear the tuna for about 2 minutes per side for medium-rare, or longer if desired.

    Remove the tuna from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.

Making the Sweet Chili Glaze

    In a small saucepan, combine sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, and lime juice.

    Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally until warmed through.

Preparing Sriracha Aioli

    In a bowl, mix together mayonnaise, sriracha, and lime juice until well combined.

Cooking Rice and Preparing Vegetables

    In a pot, bring 2 cups of water to a boil, then add jasmine rice.

    Reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for about 15 minutes or until rice is tender and water is absorbed.

    While the rice is cooking, dice the avocado and mango, and set aside.

    Blanch edamame and carrots in boiling water for about 2-3 minutes, then drain and set aside.

Plating the Bowl

    In a bowl, place a serving of jasmine rice as the base.

    Top the rice with sliced seared ahi tuna, avocado, mango, carrots, and edamame.

    Drizzle the sweet chili glaze over the bowl and add dollops of sriracha aioli to taste.
