Method
Chicken Tenders
- 1
Marinate the Chicken
In a bowl, combine the buttermilk and salt. Add the chicken breast, ensuring it is fully submerged. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight for best results.
- 2
Prepare the Breading
In a shallow dish, mix the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. In another dish, beat the egg. In a third dish, place the breadcrumbs.
- 3
Coat the Chicken
Remove the chicken from the marinade and allow excess buttermilk to drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture, then dip it in the beaten egg, and finally coat it with breadcrumbs. Set aside on a plate.
- 4
Fry or Grill the Chicken
For frying, heat the vegetable oil in a deep frying pan to 350°F (175°C). Fry the chicken tenders in batches until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. For grilling, preheat the grill to medium heat and grill the chicken tenders for 6-8 minutes on each side until fully cooked.
Waffle Fries
- 5
Prepare the Potatoes
Wash and peel the potatoes. Cut them into waffle shapes using a waffle fry cutter or a knife.
- 6
Fry the Waffle Fries
Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C). Fry the waffle fries in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 4-5 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- 7
Season the Fries
Sprinkle the fries with salt while they are still hot, tossing to coat evenly.
