Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ahi Tuna

Season the ahi tuna steaks with salt and pepper on both sides. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add a splash of oil.

  2. 2

    Sear the Tuna

Once the skillet is hot, add the ahi tuna steaks. Sear for 1-2 minutes on each side until the outside is browned but the inside remains rare. Remove from the skillet and let rest for a few minutes before slicing.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Vegetables

While the tuna is resting, prepare the salad ingredients. In a large bowl, combine mixed greens, shredded cabbage, edamame, julienned carrots, sliced red onion, and bell peppers. Toss gently to combine.

Assembly

  1. 4

    Assemble the Salad

Place a generous amount of the mixed greens and vegetable mixture on each plate.

  2. 5

    Add Sliced Tuna

Slice the rested ahi tuna steaks into thin strips and arrange them on top of the salad.

  3. 6

    Garnish and Dress

Garnish with avocado slices, tortilla strips, and jalapeño slices to taste. Drizzle with sweet chili glaze and Asian sesame vinaigrette before serving.
