Bread Pudding

Method

Bread Pudding

  1. 1

    Prepare the Bread

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Cut the stale bread into cubes and place them in a large mixing bowl.

  2. 2

    Mix the Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, heavy cream, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

Pour the wet mixture over the bread cubes. Add the raisins and gently fold everything together until the bread is thoroughly soaked.

  4. 4

    Bake the Pudding

Transfer the mixture to a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven for about 45-50 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a knife inserted comes out clean.

  5. 5

    Cool Down

Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.

Vanilla Sauce

  1. 6

    Cook the Sauce

In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the sugar and heavy cream, stirring until the sugar has dissolved.

  2. 7

    Thicken the Sauce

In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch and water to create a slurry. Gradually add this to the saucepan, stirring continuously until the sauce thickens.

  3. 8

    Add Vanilla

Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Let the sauce cool slightly before drizzling over the warm bread pudding.
