Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Patties
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each into a patty.
- 2
Cook the Patties
Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the patties to the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until browned and cooked to your desired doneness. Remove the patties from the skillet and set aside.
- 3
Sauté the Onions and Garlic
In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Add the chopped onion and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until softened. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.
- 4
Make the Gravy
Pour in the beef broth and bring to a simmer. In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with water to create a slurry. Slowly stir the slurry into the simmering broth, stirring continuously until the gravy thickens, about 2-3 minutes.
- 5
Combine and Serve
Return the cooked hamburger patties to the skillet, spooning the gravy over them. Simmer for an additional 2 minutes to heat through. Serve hot with your choice of sides.
