Meatballs

Method

Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Meatballs

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning. Mix well until all ingredients are combined.

  2. 2

    Shape the Meatballs

Shape the mixture into meatballs about 1 inch in diameter and place them on a baking sheet.

  3. 3

    Cook the Meatballs

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake the meatballs for 20 minutes, or until cooked through.

  4. 4

    Make the Tomato Sauce

In a saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic; sauté until soft. Stir in crushed tomatoes, sugar, salt, black pepper, and fresh basil. Simmer for about 15 minutes.

  5. 5

    Cook the Pasta

Meanwhile, bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add salt and then the spaghetti. Cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain the pasta.

  6. 6

    Combine and Serve

Add the cooked meatballs to the tomato sauce and let them simmer together for a few minutes. Serve the meatballs and sauce over the spaghetti, and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese.
